Mushroom hunting

There are plans to strip the forest floor, rake it up and burn it in incinerators all over Western Washington. This will not be good for mushrooms! http://sheltonprogressive.blogspot.com to learn more about this serious threat.

We went to the Staircase area and found a few mushrooms.  I was really hoping to find a particular type of mushroom but did not find it.  I had to make due with these instead:

Giant wormy Russula Brevipes

Duff pumpers (Russula Brevipes)

Elfin Saddle

I think this is a Shrimp Russula (russula xerampelina)

Shrimp topside (we did not pick it)
Lobster Mushroom

Hypholoma fasciculare

White Chanterelle with possible Lactarius Deliciousus

White Chanterelle
