Staircase in summer, aka purgatory
Staircase was a zoo this weekend, people, cars, drums, rangers driving past every 1/2 hour. My stinking dog . Sheesh.. I'm beginning to re-think my position on the Dosewallips road. I'm looking forward to backpacking and I'm not going back Staircase until the gate is locked for the winter!

That is too bad. As I have experienced the rest of the park (with only one exception) the facilities have always been clean and ready for the public. The cliental at Staircase maybe a little to be desired.
It has been very busy this summer. Our little campground on the coast (Mora) usually only fills a few times a year, This summer, it has filled over twenty days.
