Gold Mountian

Hiked to the top of Gold Mountain, the high point of Kitsap County.  My second time up.  First trip up was ten years ago!

Lots of new logging near the watershed and acess via Minard road is prohibited now.  We took a really long detour around to the tin mine.  My daughter led the way, so I did not have to think about anything.

A good long hike and I've not had one in a while.  Still hope to get in a backpacking trip while the fall colors are nice, need to get into shape first.

Had coffee on top but was very careful heating the water with my alcohol stove.  Think the burn ban is off, but still there was a lot of duff.

11 miles with 1,100 feet elvation gain.

Another nice forest about to be axed.  Hiking here is depressing
