2018 Hiking Total

I was depressed all summer and then the smoke blew in.   My lowest hiking numbers in many years.

Hiking Statistics 2017

Not my highest year in a while but still within my range.  I did count some of my Seattle miles since I do spend the entire day walking when I go to Seattle.  I've only done one hike so far this year.

I keep getting assignments or little jobs that only take an hour to do but take up my entire day by forcing me to stay home.  I need to get back on the ball.  Set a day that I always hike and stick to it come rain or come shine.

2014 Statistics

This R squared value means that one variable does weakly predict the other.  This low P value means that the odds of this happening by chance are low.  So in other words racking up more miles in a year does weakly predict that I will gain more elevation over the year and the odds of my hiking more miles in a year causing my elevation to go up was not subject to mere chance.  It's real, if I hike more miles in one year I will probably gain more elevation (duh).  I have to look this stuff up every year because I forget what it all means.
Here is the same chart with one of the outliers eliminated the R squared value here is quite strong. The P value is unchanged because I did not run the statistical analysis without the outliers.  Just ignore the P value on this chart as it is not correct.

2013 Hiking Stat's

It's time for my once a year Excel refresher course.  2013 was a record breaking year for me, but just barely.  I'm glad that it was just barely, that gives me a better chance of being able to break my record again next year.

All my hikes compared by mileage but with most duplicates deleted

My steepest hike was Wagon Wheel but if the road to Snow
Lake was open then Snow Lake would have been the Steepest

A low R squared value means that one variable does not predict the other.  A low
P value means that the odds of this happening by chance are low.  So in other words
my going on a long hike does not cause me to gain more elevation but chances are
that if I go on a longer  hike I will gain more elevation.

2012 stats

P value of .03 shows that longer hikes tend to involve more elevtion gain while R squared value says that the length of the hike does not predict the elevation gain.

2010 So far graphs

So far this year I have gotten out 28 times, hiked 269 miles and gained 55,953 feet in elevation
My average hike was 9.5  miles with 2,000 feet elevation gain.

The was no correlation between the steepness of the hike and the length of the hike.   My foot is almost healed now and my ankle is relatively stable, so I hope to get out one more time this year.

Last year I got out 28 times hiked 272 miles and gained 70,000 feet in elevation.  I'm surprised that the numbers are so similar between this year and last year. I was injured all summer and all of last month so I feel like I hiked less this year.  One contributing factor is my bike riding.  This years totals have maybe 10-10 miles of bike riding included in them.
