There are plans to strip the forest floor, rake it up and burn it in incinerators all over Western Washington. This will not be good for mushrooms!

We went to the Staircase area and found a few mushrooms. I was really hoping to find a particular type of mushroom but did not find it. I had to make due with these instead:
Giant wormy Russula Brevipes |
Duff pumpers (Russula Brevipes) |
Elfin Saddle |
I think this is a Shrimp Russula (russula xerampelina) |
Shrimp topside (we did not pick it) |
Lobster Mushroom |
Hypholoma fasciculare |
White Chanterelle with possible Lactarius Deliciousus |
