The orginal trailhead was down on the Skokomish Valley road. The trail followed the north side of the Skokomish River to Brown creek and Le Bar Camp. The current trail head is at Lebar Camp but the main trail head is now just below Lebar Camp. What happened to the trail between the Skokomish Valley road and Lebar? It was all destroyed by logging.
